Born in Madrid, Spain, Juan Ruiz-Rivas began his architectural studies at the CEU University of Madrid. A year later he became interested in product design and spent three years at IED Madrid. After finishing his studies, he specialized in handcrafted design with noble and natural materials. Today, he works as a freelancer, producing bespoke for cafes and private customers. His work was exhibited at Do Design Madrid.

He continued to study materials and production processes by studying metal sculpture at Central Saint Martins in London, and a two-month master’s degree at Domaine Des Boisbuchet. Some of his projects were chosen by Homeless Design to be exhibited at the Brera District Showroom of the Fuori Salone 2013 in Milan, Italy.
